On May 28th, Pangman area farmers began seeding another crop for the Pangman Charity Farm project – a half section of land dedicated to raising money for Pangman School. You can read the entire article which appeared in the Deep South Star.
Harvest Day arrived on Sunday, September 12th and what a beautiful day it was. The weather was perfect, the crop was ready and men and machinery moved into the field, ready to combine and get the grain into the bins. Volunteers and machinery gathered in the yard of Ken and Joyce Kaufmann around 10 a.m. ready to go to work. You can read the entire article which appeared in the Deep South Star.
The Pangman Charity Farms project wishes to express their appreciation to everyone who helped out with the project. Thanks to Ken and Joyce Kaufmann for the morning lunch, and use of their yard for the day. Special thanks to all who took the time from their own fields to provide machinery and help to harvest the crop. Thank you to the following for their contributions towards this project: Richardson Pioneer, E. Bourassa & Sons, Pangman Co-Op, Grainbelt Agencies, R.M. of Norton, Radius Credit Union, Ceylon Pulses, Weyburn Inland Terminal, Municipal Hail, Morris Industries and Bayer Crop Science and Weyburn Kentucky Fried Chicken. Without your help this project would not have been possible.
Due to the cooler weather today, the Farmer’s Market was held indoors at the Community Center. We had a good turn out of Vendors, and a variety of products for buyers to purchase, including books, crafts, vegetables, baked bread & buns, and more.
The Farmer’s Market will be held every Saturday until the end of October from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If the weather is inclement it will be held in the Community Center.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Deep South Personal Care Home would like to invite everybody to join them at thier monthly meetings the first Monday of the month at the home at 9:30 a.m. Our next meeting will be on October 5th.
At present the auxiliary is selling tickets on a Thanksgiving Hamper (tickets are 1 for$2 or 3 for$5). You can view the hamper and purchase tickets at Kathy’s Place. This hamper will hold everything you need for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
We also invite you to view the painting on display at the Radius Credit Union, Pangman Branch the next time you drop in. This painting will go to the highest bidder at the end of October and would make a great Christmas present!!
