On Saturday, June 13th, the Southern Prairie Railway hosted its first of four Redneck Suppers at the Community Centre in Pangman.

About 60 folk from the Seniors’ group at Langham and area arrived at the dock in Pangman around 6:00 pm. They walked across the way to the Community Centre where the Economic Development Board hosted a wonderful meal of red neck taters, roast squirrel (beef), roadkill honey BBQ (chicken), copperhead fixins’ (carrots), lawn clippen greens (kale salad), and dirt pie (Lazy Black Forest cake) for dessert.

The tables were decorated with newsprint and potato/radish centrepieces with cocktail sausages, gherkins and swampwater for appetizers.

Dave Sheldon from Assiniboia and Ed Rigetti from Glentworth played country music for accompaniment and a couple ladies from the group gave impromptu vocals.

It was a lovely evening weather wise and enjoyment wise!
